I can get into the movies / I just cant really read the books – they are just too long and I have way too much to do to stop and read the book.  (Although I may read the new book to find out for myself who dies and why/how they die.)

This is part one of the blog because I will tell you about my experience standing in line waiting to see the first showing of the movie.  I am only working on 2hr hour of sleep and man am I feeling every bit of it.  I am getting to old to hang out until all-hours of the night.

 So either tonight or in the morning I will give the full recap of my adventure.

MY NAME / Why can’t people get my name right – it is not that hard!

Sandré / S-A-N-D-R-E  / Andre with an “S” in the front.  What is so hard about that.  Ever since the day I was born people have been f—in my name up. The Docotor, School, Jobs, in public – you name it they F—it up.  (It is usually about 80% of the people / I don’t want to say everyone).

All they have to do is read and sound it out or open your eyes and see what my name is.  IT IS NOT:

            Sandra

            Sandy

            Andre

            Saundre

            Hunter (where this one came from I don’t know)

And countless other versions of spelling and pronunciation that I cannot or care not to remember

“Ok what brought this on?”  You may ask – I went to Noah’s beagles this morning as I have done many times before and the employees there don’t even want to try and respect to get my name right.  They always call me Sandra (except for one time when they called me Sandy).  You know I thought about talking to the manager about it, but is it worth it / are they going to care, is their customer service really at that level (which is totally different blog, which I am going to have to do.)

Now when I go to Starbucks, no matter which one – they make a great effort to get my name right.  If they cant pronounce it right away, then I see them sounding it out – so I can respect that.

I correct people all the time and some care to make an effort to respect me and my name, others are like ok and then the next time rolls around and they mess it up again / so you know the ‘tude comes out.

In case you were wondering “Where did my name come from?”  It is French (that is why it has the accent over the “e”).  My dad knows a guy name Sandré  Swanson who is a city council man in Oakland (CA) and he said if he ever had a son, he would name him Sandré (so here I am!)

Thank you to all those people who hear or see the incorrect pronunciation and/or spelling of my name and make sure people correct (some with more passion than me).

Welp I have not really seen any standouts yet.  That really wont come until they are Las Vegas / there may be a couple of favorites – but nothing major at this time.  So check back every week, I will give you an update and as the time gets closer I will break down my suspect list of Top 20 Candidates.  Also (if I can find it) the you tube video of the best performance from the night before.

You should really check out this show it will come on Wednesday (8 pm) and Thursday (9 pm) on your local Fox Station.

 Welp tonight I am going to a wedding reception in Woodland with some co-workers.  I know it is going to be fun ~ it is for my Boss’s sister who is off the wall the crazy fun (and with the co-workers that will be there OMG – I may just end up in the hospital from laughing so much!!) / so I already know that this is going to be a blast tonight.

Saturday (afternoonish) I am going to be headed to Santa Rosa to hang out with Dori and Rick .   They have seven (yes giRR Seven (7)) kids and they are all so much fun.  You need to read Dori’s blog:  http://scarlet338.wordpress.com/2007/05/24/right-here-and-now/  she breaks down the kids.  I will be there to the latest Monday morning/afternoon.  We will have a weekend of drinking (Corona w/Lime), karaoke, eating, hot tubing – if its not too hot (but we proably won’t care, be to drunk to even notice) and just having a full out blast!

So I may or may not be blogging this weekend – we will see / if I dont blog this weekend – I know I will have a lot to report on Tuesday.

But lets talk about that crap of a show they had.  Everyone sounded a mess.  (Well not everyone. – Lakeshia, Melinda, Gladys Knight sounded great.   I like how they let those two sing and shine with Gladys).  The rest of the show was a hot blooded mess.  It was nice that they brought back all the past idols (minues Fantasia – who is on Broadway performing in “The Color Purple” to excellent reviews).

Welp we will take a break from singing and move into dancing now.  I love love love “So You Think You Can Dance” – which starts tonight.  I hope this not a crazy year on that show like it was on AI.  Hell half this year I was wondering what in the world America was thinking on some of the people, that they voted off – but we are not going to recap the entire year.
