American Idol / Tuesday Night Review

•May 23, 2007 • 1 Comment

Ok Everyone – Here is the breakdown of A/I Last night ~ can we say I am a not a happy camper, but have to tell the truth.

ROUND 1:

BLAKE / Song:  You Give Love A Bad Name (Bon Jovi)

*  I thought his performance was better four weeks ago when he first performed the song.  It was still an excellent performance.  He is such a strong entertainer – I would love to see him live.  I love how he just made sure this song was still his own from the beat boxing to the vocals.  NOT a copy of Bon Jovi.

JORDAN / Song:  Fighter (Christina A.)

*  This song was way to big for her.  I think she was really trying to sing the Christina version.  She really should have made this her own in some way.  Think out of the Box – Do Jordan / Not someone else!  You can also tell her nerves took over when she saw the HUGE crowd.

ROUND 1 goes to Blake (hands down)

ROUND 2

BLAKE / Song:  She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5)

* He had great control.  You can tell he loves this style of music (the rock/pop genre).  He was a little shaky on his high notes.  I just think he could have made it more of his own song.  He still sounded like Maroon 5 (who’s new CD is off the damn hook!!!)

JORDAN / Song:  A Broken Wing (Martina McBride)

*  Much much better than the 1st song.  She is a much stronger ballad singer.  I love when she hits those big notes – has great control.  Even those this was a country song – she brought some R & B Flava to it.

ROUND 2 GOES TO JORDAN (with Blake a very very very close (like .1) behind her)

SIDE NOTE:  Ok why doesn’t any of the power house singer in the competition ever try to take on Rascal Flatts songs like:  I’m Movin’ On, I melt, These Days, What Hurts the Most.  I think these are all songs that they can really shine with.  Think about it next year guys – they need to have a Rascal Flatts night / that would stay on TiVo FOREVER!

ROUND 3 – American Idol Song:  This is My Now (Contest Winners)

Couple of notes for the song – Love it, it was a nice song – GREAT JOB out of Seattle.  I think in the middle they need to lose A LOT of the background / it kinda takes away from the song for me.

BLAKE

* Blake was truly not a strong ballad singer.  He really wasn’t feeling the song.  I think also he knew this was his make it or break it song and he let his nerves take over.

JORDAN

You can tell that she is a very strong ballad singer.  She is going to be in the category of Celion, Whitney that can really make ballads (esp power ballads) her own song.  She really felt the song (as with the chock up at the end).

ROUND 3:  (hands down) Jordan

THE NEXT AMERICAN IDOL WILL BE:  JORDAN SPRAKS!!

Chris Daughtry performed also last night – he rocked the house with his new hit song “HOME”.  This is the song that has been playing at the end of every show.  I will look for the performance and post it in a blog later today.

(I know if I couldn’t have Melinda or Lakesha – I wanted Blake to win / but I can only speak the truth!!)

Make sure you tune into your local Fox station to see who the next American Idol will be.  Also don’t forget that tomorrow starts the next exciting season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE – 8 PM on your local Fox station.

Maroon 5Hello,

Can I just say I love iTunes.  They had the new Maroon 5 CD downloaded for me at like 1 this morning (I wasnt up that early – now if it was janet yes maybe!!)

Can I say this CD is off the hook.  It is now 9:45 and I am getting ready to listen to it for the third time. – After I listen to it some more I will write a better review, break the songs down, etc … but so far I have not heard anything that I would say YUK – track skip!!!  Love it, Love It Love It!

Check back later in the day or tomorrow for a better review!!

A Million Little Pieces ~ I liked it / who cares it was a fake

•May 22, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Ok I just finished watching “The Oprah Winfrey Show” (on Tivo – God, I love that invention ~ but that is another blog for another day)

I am so tired about hearing about this “A Million Little Pieces”.  The Book was published in 2004, It wasn’t put on Oprah’s book club until Sept 05, and the shit didnt hit the fan until January 06.

James did lie / if people listen (which I do a lot) he NEVER said the book was the truth.  He has always said that this is the WAY he remembered it.  Now please remember this man was on drugs and drinking and the memorey is a little shoot.  (Remember he doesnt have all his brain cells left).  He needs to call me as his PR person … I could have covered his ass in this issue (and some other ways too…)

Oprah said that as she read the book there were some read flags that popped up.  She asked the publisher today “Why didnt you have someone check the facts?”  Welp Miss Goody Goody i have a couple of questions for you:  1)  You said you select the books MONTHS before it is announced ~ welp, why didnt you hire a fact checker to verify the book?    2)  If there were Red Flags, why did you slect the book and have him on your show?  3)  Why did you defend James on Larry King?  Now you claim you are embrassed and upset – be upset and embrassed at yourself the most!  You were the fool that pushed this book.

Welp from what I hear the book is good (true or not) the underlining message is still you can make it through the strugle.  No matter what people say about the book I still recommend this book to you and anyone else that asks me / go get it, read it takes its values in – it still has a story to tell.  I would also recommend picking up another book ~ THE BIBLE / It tells the same story of you can survive the strugle and make.

I would also say (as we gay in the gay community already know) BUYER BEWARE, take everyone/everything at face value.

Sorry for the rambling, just had to get all these feelings off my chest.

That is my 2 cents,

~ Dre’ ~

‘vers…’ men

•May 9, 2007 • Leave a Comment

THIS IS AN OLD BLOG FROM LIKE A YEAR AGO THAT I POSTED ON YAHOO.  WANTED TO MOVE IT OVER HERE!  Enjoy

I have been thinking  men who cliam they are a “VERS TOP”  or “VERS BOTTOM”  and I just need to get it off my chest.

The VERS TOP/VERS BOTTOM thing:  That really gets on my nerves … VERS means that you are true 50/50, love a d*** in your a** or to put your d*** in someones ass and doesnt matter when or why or how (ok – i take that back – the WHO does matter a lot).

Just becuase you fuck or get f*** every once in a while does not mean you can call yourself vers.  Just say / I am a TOP or BOTTOM and on special occations you like to f*** someone or get ****ed.

Ok that is my 2 cents – like or leave it,

Dre

The Zsa Zsa Zsu (part one)

•May 9, 2007 • Leave a Comment

Ok I was watching “SEX AND THE CITY” last night (one of my favoriate episodes) and Carrie was writing the following statement:

One night I thought about what it takes to make a relationship work until “Death do us part”?

Most singles have more long term success with friends … so maybe it is a better strategy to marry a friend.  However in the absents of sex weather that is the arrangement or just what happens after a few years; what distinguishes this companion from your many other companions.

When it comes to saying “I do” is a relationship a relationship with out the zsa zsa zsu?

I can totally feel her … this is the point I am at.  I have been looking for that one guy to give me (and keep me) in the zsa zsa zsu.  If you are out there / please email me, contact me … I am truly a good guy (lol)

This is my 2 cents
